Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the Pulse5 AI desktop application ("Pulse5", "the app", "the Software") and the pulse5.online website. By downloading, installing, or using Pulse5, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Software.
1. What Pulse5 does
Pulse5 is a local coding assistant that operates on a workspace folder you choose. Depending on how you configure it, it can read files, write and edit files, and run shell commands in that workspace, using an AI model of your choosing (a third-party provider you supply a key for, or a local model you point it at).
2. License
Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Pulse5 for your own personal or commercial purposes. You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or reverse-engineer the Software, or represent it as your own.
3. Your responsibility for what the AI does
Pulse5 can write files and run real commands on your machine, including in Auto mode, where it acts without asking first except for a heuristic list of commonly-dangerous patterns (things like rm -rf or a force-push). That safety net is a best-effort convenience, not a guarantee — it cannot catch everything a model might do. You are solely responsible for reviewing what the agent does, for anything it commits or executes, and for using Manual approval mode or the review/auto-approve-rules settings in situations where that matters to you.
AI-generated code and command output can be wrong, incomplete, or unsafe. Treat everything the agent produces as a draft from a fast but fallible collaborator — review it the same way you'd review a pull request, especially before running it against production systems, real user data, or anything you can't easily undo.
4. Your own API keys and providers
If you configure Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google Gemini, you are entering into a direct relationship with that provider — including their pricing, rate limits, acceptable-use policies, and terms of service. We have no visibility into and no responsibility for that relationship, your usage costs, or the availability or output of their APIs.
5. Local models
If you run Pulse5 against a local model via Ollama, LM Studio, or a compatible server, you're responsible for that software, the model you've chosen to run, and its output, same as above.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Pulse5 to build, generate, or deploy anything illegal, to attack or gain unauthorized access to systems you don't own or have permission to test, or to violate the terms of the AI providers or third-party services you connect it to.
7. No warranty
The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including, without limitation, any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee that Pulse5 will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any AI output it produces will be accurate, secure, or suitable for your use case.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pulse5 AI and its author(s) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Software, including damages resulting from commands it executed or files it modified.
9. Changes to the Software and these terms
We may update Pulse5 and these terms over time. Material changes to these terms will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Software after a change means you accept the update.
10. Termination
You can stop using Pulse5 and uninstall it at any time. We may discontinue or modify the Software, or any service it depends on (such as the update feed), at any time.
